About LifeRoots Holistics

John Cullen | Sound, Nature & Conscious Living I’m John Cullen, a holistic wellness practitioner, sound healing facilitator, nature-based facilitator, and lifelong explorer of the relationship between sound, vibration, nature, plants, consciousness, and human potential. My journey has taken me through many interconnected paths: sound healing, vibroacoustic experiences, meditation, breathwork, regenerative agriculture, permaculture, sustainable food cultivation, herbal preparations, forest bathing, plant-centered ceremonies, and consciousness exploration. What may appear to be separate interests are, to me, different expressions of the same underlying question: How do we reconnect with ourselves, with nature, and with the world around us? Sound & Vibration Sound is one of the primary ways I explore consciousness and embodied experience. Through sound healing, immersive sound journeys, sound baths, and vibroacoustic experiences, I work with rhythm, resonance, frequency, vibration, and intentional listening to create spaces for deep relaxation, meditation, introspection, and self-awareness. My sound work incorporates Tibetan and brass singing bowls, crystal singing bowls, drums, chimes, rain sticks, bamboo wind chimes, voice, immersive soundscapes, and vibroacoustic technology. I’m particularly fascinated by the difference between simply hearing sound and actually experiencing vibration within the body. For me, sound becomes an invitation to slow down, become present, and explore what emerges when the outside world becomes quieter. Vibroacoustic Experiences My work with vibroacoustic technology takes sound beyond the ears and into a more immersive physical experience. Through specialized sound and vibration, I create sessions designed to encourage deep relaxation, body awareness, meditation, stillness, introspection, and restoration. I see these experiences not as something being done to someone, but as an opportunity for an individual to become an active participant in their own experience. The intention is to create a safe, supportive environment where someone can step away from the constant stimulation of everyday life and reconnect with their body and inner awareness. These experiences are offered as complementary wellness practices and are not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure medical conditions. Forest Bathing & Nature Connection Some of the most profound wellness experiences don’t require technology, instruments, or elaborate surroundings. Sometimes they simply require a forest. Through forest bathing and nature-based experiences, I invite people to slow down and intentionally reconnect with the natural world. Forest bathing isn’t about hiking to a destination or accomplishing a physical goal. It is about experiencing the forest through the senses. The sound of wind moving through the canopy. The scent of the earth. The texture of bark. Birdsong. Water. Light moving through leaves. The feeling of the ground beneath your feet. Your breath. Your awareness. The forest becomes a place for presence, observation, reflection, and connection. It becomes a different kind of listening. Regenerative Agriculture & Permaculture My relationship with nature extends beyond spending time in it. I have a background in regenerative agriculture and permaculture, which profoundly influenced the way I understand sustainability, food, wellness, and our relationship with the Earth. Permaculture taught me to look at relationships and systems rather than isolated pieces. Regenerative agriculture taught me to think about restoring and nurturing the systems that sustain life. Growing food taught me patience, observation, seasonality, responsibility, and appreciation. There is something powerful about placing your hands in the soil, planting a seed, watching it grow, harvesting it, and eventually turning it into nourishment. It creates a direct connection between land, food, body, and life. Growing Plants & Creating Herbal Preparations I sustainably grow plants on my own property and enjoy exploring their traditional uses through hands-on herbal preparation. I create tinctures, tonics, infused preparations, teas, botanical blends, and other plant-based concoctions from plants that I cultivate and harvest. For me, there is something deeply meaningful about following the entire journey of a plant: Seed → soil → growth → harvest → preparation → experience. Growing plants has taught me to slow down and pay attention. You learn quickly that nature operates on its own schedule. You can’t rush a seed into becoming a plant. You can’t force a season to change. And you can’t truly understand a plant without developing some relationship with the environment in which it grows. My approach to plants is rooted in sustainability, traditional knowledge, curiosity, respect, and responsible use. These preparations are part of my personal and holistic exploration and are not presented as medical treatments or substitutes for professional medical care. Plant-Centered Ceremonies My exploration of plants also includes plant-centered ceremonial experiences. Plants have been part of human cultural, spiritual, nutritional, and ceremonial traditions for thousands of years. I’m deeply interested in the relationship between plants, people, place, ritual, intention, and consciousness. The ceremonies I facilitate are approached with respect and reverence for the natural world. For me, ceremony isn’t simply about an event. It is about intention. Creating space. Becoming present. Listening. Reflecting. Connecting. And allowing an experience to become an opportunity for deeper self-exploration. Food, Nourishment & Nature Growing my own food has changed the way I think about nourishment. Food isn’t simply something that appears on a plate. Behind every plant is a story of soil, sunlight, water, microorganisms, seasons, cultivation, harvesting, preparation, and tradition. I’ve explored growing and working with plants that have been traditionally valued for their nutritional and wellness properties, as well as creating preparations from plants I cultivate sustainably. This has given me a much deeper appreciation for the relationship between what we grow, what we consume, and the ecosystems that make it possible. I don’t believe there is one perfect diet or one universal path to wellness. I’m much more interested in helping people develop curiosity, awareness, and a deeper relationship with their own nourishment and environment. Breath, Meditation & Consciousness My personal exploration extends into meditation, breathwork, energy awareness, sacred geometry, spirituality, altered states of consciousness, and the many ways humans explore their inner worlds. I’m fascinated by the places where science, consciousness, spirituality, traditional knowledge, and lived experience begin asking similar questions from different directions. At the same time, I believe curiosity and discernment belong together. I’m interested in exploring unusual and expansive ideas while remaining grounded enough to question assumptions, distinguish personal experience from established evidence, and remain open to learning. I don’t claim to have all the answers. I’m an explorer. My Philosophy Over time, I’ve realized that the different paths I’ve explored aren’t really separate. Sound connects us to vibration. The forest connects us to nature. Plants connect us to the land. Food connects us to nourishment. Ceremony connects us to intention. Breath connects us to the present moment. Stillness connects us to ourselves. And consciousness sits somewhere in the middle of all of it. My philosophy is rooted in connection rather than separation. Connection to ourselves. Connection to other people. Connection to the natural world. Connection to the food we grow. Connection to the plants around us. Connection to the body. Connection to sound and vibration. Connection to something larger than ourselves. Listening to sound. Listening to vibration. Listening to the body. Listening to the breath. Listening to the forest. Listening to the land. Listening to plants. Listening to our own inner experience. And learning to distinguish the constant noise around us from the quieter signals within us. Modern life can pull us away from the very things that have always connected us to ourselves: nature, community, silence, movement, nourishment, rhythm, ritual, and awareness. My work is an exploration of ways to return to those connections. Sometimes that happens through a sound bath. Sometimes through vibration. Sometimes through breath or meditation. Sometimes through walking quietly through a forest. Sometimes through growing something from a seed. Sometimes through preparing something from a plant grown with your own hands. Sometimes through ceremony. And sometimes through simply becoming quiet enough to notice what has been there all along. I don’t see myself as someone who has arrived at the end of the journey. I’m still learning. Still growing. Still listening. Still exploring. And I believe that’s part of the beauty of being human. Sound. Vibration. Nature. Plants. Nourishment. Consciousness. Connection. Different paths. One journey.
